“For moms who work from home, time is precious. We need to take care of our children and our homes, yet still manage to bring home some bacon.

Paid assignments and projects are crammed in between loads of laundry and making meals, and work is often completed while tots are at our feet. As a freelance writer, I spend a great deal of time at the computer. My kids are so accustomed to seeing me tapping away at the keyboard that they often lug their toy laptops to the kitchen table to imitate their work-at-home mom.

For 10 years, I have worked from home while taking care of my family. During that decade, I have learned many valuable lessons regarding the skill of completing work at home.”

Anyone who thinks that working from home with kids around all day is easy has never tried it. Is it impossible? No. I’ve been doing it consistently and successfully for many years  but it takes a lot of hard work and determination. I think the most important skill I’ve developed is the ability have a plan and yet be ready to change it at a moments notice.
